Travel Blog Success Review

Think blogs are just for keeping your friends & family updated on your travels? Think again. The rise of travel bloggers has grown so much that World Hum called 2009 the “Year of the Travel Blogger”.

“Sure, travel bloggers—like travel blogs—have been around for years. But this year, travel bloggers began organizing in new and increasingly prominent ways—and as never before, they were treated to many of the same perks (and some of the same scrutiny) as traditional big media travel journalists.”      – World Hum

So if you have big dreams of doing more with your travel blog, you’re in good, and very crowded, company.

How do you make yourself standout? With Travel Blog Success!

Travel Blog Success

We recently shared David Lee’s career break story, and featured why we love his site, Go Backpacking. And now David has used the successes he has learned in travel blogging to help others achieve their goals.

There are a lot of great resources to help you build your blog, but you could easily spend countless hours sifting through forums, tweets, and websites trying to figure it all out. Travel Blog Success presents it all in one place.

The core courses are broken up into three sections and cover various aspects important to blogging, including setting goals, design & formatting, understanding SEO, incorporating photography/video, and of course making money!

[singlepic=1663,300,,,right]They are designed as weekly courses (for the premium price you gain access to all at once), and they don’t just teach – they also encourage a “call to action” – so you are immediately engaged. And unlike an eBook, they will be updated regularly based on user feedback (and of course, the fast-changing times of the online world).

But it’s what you get above and beyond the courses that make this site so valuable. You have access to:

  • A regularly updated blog with great insight on the ever-changing world of online and social media
  • Ongoing audio interviews with well-established bloggers
  • And an active forum where you can engage with fellow bloggers and gain great insight
  • 15% discount on a premium Woo Theme for WordPress

We had the opportunity to gain a sneak-peak at TBS and have already found some valuable information that we’ve incorporated into our site and strategies. And even in its preview stage, David is extremely engaged in the conversation, offering great feedback and advice. And the voices will only grow as more people join.

We think that this is a great investment whether you are just starting off blogging or already have a blog. The core lessons are great for beginners, but the ongoing content (blog, interviews, forums) is what really makes it a valuable resource.

Travel Blog SuccessPricing:
Includes 12 easy-to-follow lessons, audio interviews with established bloggers, exclusive blog, active forum, discounted Woo Theme
3 Monthly Payments ($87)
Premium Membership ($75)

Glad to hear this new project is getting good reviews! And what a great idea, to provide a space for travel bloggers to help each other refine their craft.

I’m also a member of Travel blog success and I have to say that it really is a valuable resource for bloggers, whether they are just starting or already have a blog. The course takes you through the right steps with easy to understand language, which is especially important for topics like SEO and engagement of you audience.

The hidden gem is truly the private forums, when you run a blog things go wrong, and having a tight community to rely on when you need help right away. Not to mention that networking with other travel bloggers will help you blog grow and help you become a better blogger.

Writing this comment because I hope to win the subscription. And reason being I can’t afford. But I think there’s gonna be a bloody lot to benefit from this Travel Blog Success. And because I have one travel website too, I hope I can contribute in one way or another.

It looks like David has created an AWESOME product here. I recently started up a travel blog with a couple of friends to document our upcoming RTW trip, and I think Travel Blog Success would be a great resource for us!

Well, Ive been working over a year on my video diary blog of my life in France without making any income (although I do get a lot of compliments and nominations for awards) so I think I definitely need the course. But money is a problem as I moved to a foreign country in a small town with no jobs and can’t speak the language! So I’ll have to take my chances at winning. Thanks for the opportunity. Cynthia

  17. Delphine on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 11:14 am

This sounds like a great resource! Keeping my fingers crossed to win the subscription!

  18. Stephen on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 11:42 am

Looks like Dave has set up a pretty decent course here. I would like to give it a try, but I don’t have the funds right now. Although it does look like the course offers a whole lot, for not very much money. Anyhow, I could use the free subscription to better my current web site and develop a new personal travel blog in near future.

    Hey there-
Great idea! And Sherry, like you…I started my blog back in 2006. You are right–back then there were just a few of us travel bloggers kicking around out there and now I can’t believe how many of us there are. It’s incredible really.
And way to go Dave! It sounds like a great program and I’d love to get involved to take my blog to the next level.

Thanks B2B for running this fab contest. 🙂

    Cheers,
    Lisa

Having started my blog recently all with the goal of becoming part of the travel community and giving back to the people that were helping me. This would be a great resource to help in my goal to do that.

  21. Scott - dreamalittledream.ca on Sun, 7th Feb 2010 11:45 pm

Travel Blog Success seems like a great resource for travelers. Everything under one roof rather than running around the intraweb trying to gather the info yourself. I hope it does well!

  22. Peter J on Sun, 7th Feb 2010 11:53 pm

This course sounds amazing!! I have just begun my own journey in the field of travel blogging, and am having some difficulty looking through all of forums and social media outlets while working full time. I love the idea that a course like this has become available.

    Thanks 🙂
    Peter

As an aspiring travel blogger without a lot of cash, Travel Blog Success certainly seems like the right avenue to take to learn more about travel blogging–and in particular, monetizing my blog. Look forward to hopefully trying it out soon!

  24. Barbara Weibel on Tue, 9th Feb 2010 12:15 pm

I’ve been at this travel blogging thing for slightly over three years now. I’ve had some success (up to about 12,000 uniques per month now) but I have to learn it all by trial and error. What a fabulous resource this is for travel bloggers. I’m sure I could learn a great deal and hope to win the subscription! But whether or not I win, I wish David Lee great success with this project.

  25. Chris (Amateur Traveler) on Tue, 9th Feb 2010 12:46 pm

Since this is my day job now I better figure out have to be a travel blog success 🙂

  26. Kelly Wetherington on Tue, 9th Feb 2010 12:49 pm

GREAT IDEA …I wish I would have thought of it! Thanks for the inspiration! Your program seems to offer the tools and ideas I have been seeking in revamping my current travel blog. After a year of travel without getting paid, I found myself broke and back in a cubicle trying desperately to pay off the last trip and save up for more adventures. Feeling restless with a bad case of the travel bug…I keep coming back to the question “How can I get paid while blogging about my travels?” I am excited to hear about your success and would love the opportunity to take your course and start making money doing what I love best! PICK ME!!! : )

  27. Ann Lombardi (The Trip Chicks®) on Tue, 9th Feb 2010 2:18 pm

A tip of the hat to Dave for creating a one-stop “how to” easy-to-follow resource for travel bloggers. Best of continued success to you, Dave!

I’d welcome the chnce to be in the forums, especially. sounds as though they’d be a great place to to both give and receive knowledge and ideas.
