Words To Live By…
Words are powerful. And when they are put together the right way, they can be inspirational, start revolutions, and create lifelong bonds. We’ve compiled some of our favorite quotes about travel, goals, and motivation. They are designed to stop you in your tracks, re-evaluate what you are doing with your life, and challenge you to take a step further towards your career break goals.
We suggest you print your favorite ones out (in extra large font!), and pin them up in your cube, office, next to your coffee machine, on your mirror where you shave every morning, put in your planner, and on your fridge.
Put one in your wallet to remind you why you are trying to save money for a career break. Put one in your car so that you can stare at it while you sit in that never ending traffic while commuting. Put one in your underwear drawer – after all, you do need to put on underwear every day!
Look at it daily, and think about what you are doing to move one step closer to your travel goal every day.
If baby steps aren’t enough, you can also get giant leaps closer to your travel goals by simply attending a Meet, Plan, Go! event near you on October 18th.
See…it’s simple. Read, print, display, reserve your spot for Meet, Plan, Go!. Now go find some scissors.

“We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic of creativity. When we get home, home is still the same. But something in our mind has been changed, and that changes everything.”

– Unknown
“…so many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future.”
– Chris McCandless – Into the Wild
Quotes from career breakers who you don’t know…yet:

– Sherry Ott, Panelist – San Francisco Meet, Plan, Go!
“I love the simplicity of it all. My only job is to go somewhere and figure out how to do it. My to-do list is rather short: figure out the exchange rate and get cash out of an ATM, figure out a few key words in the native language, figure out transport to my lodging and around town, exchange books (find English used bookstore), do laundry every 2 weeks or so.”
– Lisa Lubin, Host – Chicago Meet, Plan, Go!
